Council for British Archaeology (Yorkshire)

The Council for British Archaeology (Yorkshire) promotes and supports archaology of all periods in the Yorkshire region. They also have an on-line diary of archaeology events in the Yorkshire region and run an Industrial Heritage flickr pool to share photographs of industrial sites and to discuss issues relating to industrial heritage sites at risk across the country.

English Heritage (Industrial Heritage At Risk)

English Heritage now have an entire section of their website devoted to Industrial Heritage At Risk. This covers the whole of the country (rather than just Yorkshire or the East Peak) but does contain some really useful information about current work to help safeguard some of our most vulnerable heritage sites.

We have set up our own flickr page with photographs of Industrial Heritage sites across the East Peak area. If there are any local sites that you would like us to include on the page please let us know.

National Industrial Heritage Support Programme

English Heritage and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust are working in partnership with the Association for Independent Museums (AIM) and the Association for Industrial Archaeology (AIA) to fund a 3 year support programme for Industrial Heritage, which is specifically aimed at supporting groups who conserve and manage industrial heritage sites for the benefit of the public.
